Competitive dance is for dancers who want to explore the full potential of their athleticism and artistry.
Company dancers train weekly in ballet, jazz technique, acro, and more. They rehearse competitive routines, attend conventions, and perform at competitions throughout the season.
It’s structured. It’s disciplined. It requires consistency.
But it’s also full of growth, inside jokes, team bonding, and the kind of confidence that only comes from doing something hard and doing it well.

We cast based on:
Work ethic
Attitude
Classroom behavior
Performance quality
Movement quality
Existing technique
Foundational potential
We are not looking for skills first.
We are looking for building blocks. Our company dancers are determined, kind, strong, and smart. They work hard. They overcome. They laugh a lot. They have a good sense of humor, because long rehearsal days require one.
They aren’t afraid to try new things or set big goals.
They hold themselves to high standards and rise to meet them. We’re looking for kids who love to dance and want to grow.

Ready doesn’t mean advanced.
Ready means willing to work.If your dancer currently trains at EDC, talk to their teacher. We are happy to have an honest conversation about progress and company opportunities.
If you’re new to EDC, dancers can be evaluated during our Spring Break audition workshop or through a private audition evaluation by request.

Company is a commitment, not just in hours, but in consistency.
Rehearsals are mandatory. Competitive routines cannot be effectively built when dancers are frequently absent. Technique classes also have attendance policies.
That said, competitive dance does not automatically mean five days a week.
We offer three levels:
Rookies (Ages 4–6)
2–3 days per week
2 competitions per yearStars (2nd–12th grade)

Base Monthly Tuition:

All-Stars – $160Additional group dances starting at +$5/month.

Competitive dance is an investment.
But it is not one-size-fits-all. -
More than technique.
They gain work ethic.
They learn how to persevere.
They learn how to win and lose with grace.
They learn how to handle disappointment and keep going.
They learn how to push themselves toward the best version of themselves. They build accountability.
They learn how to fuel their bodies.Long-term dance training also supports memory retention, pattern recognition, and critical thinking, skills that carry into school, the workplace and beyond.
And they still get to be kids. They laugh. They’re silly. They eat lollipops. They build friendships that feel bigger than dance.

Our season follows a clear rhythm. Summer focuses on training: strengthening technique, building skills, and setting the tone for the year. In late summer, we learn choreography during two focused weeks before the season officially begins. Fall is about learning, memorizing, and building stamina. Winter shifts into cleaning: the detailed, repetitive refinement phase where routines really level up. Before our first competition, dancers participate in a showcase with mock judges so they can practice performing on stage. From there, the season moves quickly with competitions, conventions, long rehearsals, and major growth moments along the way. It’s structured and demanding, but deeply rewarding and designed to help dancers grow in confidence, discipline, and grace.
